Spring Middle School Art Project -Due Date April 3, 2023
Materials are accumulating in the classroom & I know they are accumulating in your homes! This Middle School project has recycling at its core. Look around you and see how many things thrown away can instead be used to create amazing works of art! The assignment is simple….
Part 1: RESEARCH. Choose an artist who creates using mainly recycled materials. Accumulate pictures of their works, details of where art is shown, why this artist’s style appeals to you, etc.
OR
Choose a material that can be recycled/used in another way (milk cartons, boxes, lids, paper towels rolls, pop tabs, etc.). Try to think outside the box (no pun intended). Accumulate pictures of ideas (Google, Pinterest, etc), details of creation, etc. (**DON’T forget to document your sources!**).
Part 2: Create a piece of artwork inspired by your research. Artwork must be made using mostly recycled materials! If you wish to work more than one type of material into your art piece, GREAT! HOWEVER, the piece must be based on your research.
Part 3: Present your research and project to the class. Just like the fall project, you will be given 5 minutes to present your research/inspiration and your project to the class.
That’s it! All projects will be displayed in the foyer for all to view, so be sure to showcase your very best effort. All materials in the classroom are available for use…just come and ask. Other good places to find materials: home (of course), Goodwill or your local thrift shop, parent’s work, neighborhood, the bike shop, etc.
All of you wowed me with your over-the-top designs in the fall project challenge. I can hardly wait to see what comes out of your minds this time!!
