Hello all!
Watch this space for information throughout the year about projects (middle school fall & spring). I know there are times that our children "fail" to share assignments that are coming up, so I am giving you a "heads up" of sorts with these 2 BIG projects.
NEW THIS YEAR: Check out the blog for what is happening in the Art room! This is something new for me and I am excited to give you a window into our creative space. CLICK HERE for Mrs. Hess' Art Blog
Wish List for art room:
#1 wish: ALTOIDS tins! I use these for multiple mixed media projects throughout the year, so they disappear quickly
recycled CDs & DVDs (preferably unscratched)
free draw paper
foam egg cartons: I currently have plenty of the cardboard type. PLEASE check for holes (or paint/glue/mod podge will find them for us!)
thin cardboard
I just completed a Studio: Printmaking course through the Art of Education University. I am excited to introduce my students to the amazing techniques I learned. Some of the tools needed are more than I can afford for a classroom full of students. For that reason, I have set up an Amazon wishlist to obtain the needed materials. If you wish to help, follow the link below...and thank you in advance.

Message to ALL parents about Art Journals:
Please make sure your child has an art journal for class. Currently I have multiple students in each grade who are missing this important part of the supply list! We use the journal in the younger grades for freetime and for occasional assignments. In the Middle School grades, students will have a weekly-bi weekly assignment due in the journal starting after the first of the year. These will be turned in for a grade. If your child does not have his/her journal it will be reflected in his/her grade at the end of the trimester (grade as well as preparation).
Journals (9"x12") can be found at Target for less than $5 or at Michaels (use a 50% off coupon to bring the cost down. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you in advance.
